RICH REWARDS

Sam and Will participated in a reading contest this summer sponsored by Veritas Press, the publisher of a lot of our curriculum. They each earned a $10 gift certificate to order something from the Veritas catalog, but they had to wait until late September to get it. It was a long wait for them, but they finally got it, agonized over what to spend it on, ordered their very own book and got it in the mail a couple of days ago. Very excited, very happy were they to receive the fruit of their labor. Sam chose War Stories by Paul Dowswell and Will chose 100 Cupboards by N. D. Wilson.

So far, sleeping is all we got. She's still in her own little world. She's the sweetest thing, though.

AMELIA SERIES

I'm posting some recent pictures of Amelia. She's always around, looking cute and tempting me to take pictures of her. One thing I noticed about these pictures is that she is very often eating or drinking something. That's a pretty big part of being a toddler. Seems like she's always asking for some kind of snack.

I let Amelia play briefly with a tiny porcelain doll that my Grandma Bethel made for me when I was little. I still have it Grandma. I have always loved that little doll and take care of it so my girls can hopefully enjoy it too.

There were a few tears when I told her we needed to put the doll away.

Nothing better than being read to.

MY NIECE!!!

This little sunshine is my niece, Macy Hope Snead. My mom just sent me this new picture of her, she just turned 1. Since she lives about 3,000 miles away from us, we don't see her much!

My mom recently spent a week with my sister and her family at their house in Woodland, WA. She sent me this picture of herself with her granddaughter, Macy.

I know this is a sad picture! Rest assured that this is the exception. Actually, so much so, that we took a picture. She really doesn't cry at all, but this is confirmation that it is possible.
