Peter's Graduation from seminary

Keystone State Park Trip

This was our home away from home last week while Peter took a summer school course. We rented this cabin at Keystone State Park, east of Pittsburgh.

The littlest camper.

We had this wonderful porch which we used a lot.

Double bunk beds in the boys room.

This is a "before the battle" picture. Sam shouts, "Aim for the sky!!" All shoot pretend arrows from their bows (hangers), then jump down and a wild, imaginary conflict ensues, resulting in....

...a disastrous end for all.

Here Amelia is trying to join the ranks of the dead and wounded.

Samuel hid behind a suitcase up in the top of this closet in a game of hide and seek.

Amelia, with curly wet hair after her bath in the sink.

We did get outside a little in between rain showers. This picture is on the porch of a hundred year old stone lodge that has been turned into a visitor center. We got to learn some about coal mining and how it relates to the steel industry. There are several coal tunnels under the park and the lake was built by the Keystone Coal and Coke Co. for use in their mining business before it was later sold to the state and made into a park.

Going fishing for a bit.

Fishing, sort of.

Millie in the backpack.

Calvin tying his shoes?

You can't see Amelia because she's in the backpack on my back. We tried a holding-the-rope hike and it worked so well. Everyone stayed together and went the same pace. It rained on us during this hike and we went back pretty wet but glad that we'd gone anyway.
