THE PAINTINGS

I forgot to include some of the finished art resulting from the painting time. :-)

A THREE-PICTURE TRIBUTE TO OUR NEW TABLE

We are the proud owners of a new dining room table and chairs and hutch, all of which you can see below. This was a gift and I thought the givers might enjoy actually seeing them in our dining room. :-) Not only are they lovely to look at and the chairs MATCH, but it meets the needs of our family in a very practical way. Many thanks...

PICTURE PROOF

Here is picture proof that we actually got out the paints. I rarely break down and do it. This episode was so painless, we might just do it again!

Some very nice pictures were produced.

VERY GOOD PUMPKIN FUN

Our pumpkin carving night was last Wednesday and it ended up being just a whole lot of fun. First is the cleaning out part, which I think the kids may enjoy more than the adults.

Peter actually swept and mopped the floor when we were done so that I wouldn't get too anxious over the mess created by this fun time.

"Look mom, I can fit my whole head in here."

Peter helps Will lift it so he can be a pumpkin head.

After the he took the pumpkin off, he was laughing at all the goo and sliminess.

Here are pictures of each boy with his own pumpkin. This first one is Benny, though you can't see him.

William

Samuel

My older boys have been reading Beowulf. Samuel really wanted me to put a caption for this next picture that was inspired from the book. Here it is, courtesy of Samuel:
"Mighty Fiend Pumpkins, giving glare looks"

Some very good pumpkin fun!!

APPLE PICKING AT SIMMONS FARM

While mom and dad were here, we all went and picked apples at a farm in Pennsylvania. We've been patrons of Simmons Farm ever since we moved out east. The pictures were taken by me and some by my mom.

On our way out to the orchard

Beautiful apple trees

Dad :-)

It's really wonderful that the kids can participate and fill a bag themselves.

When we were done picking we visited the farm's petting zoo.

We also picked out some pumpkins to take home.

Last of all, the kids played in the "corn" box.

PLAYING IN LEAVES

You can't tell, but that mound of leaves in front of Amelia is Calvin all covered in leaves. Ben covered him and is trying to keep Amelia from uncovering him.
Out he comes to pretend he's a ghost and chase Ben around the yard.

Amelia has observed this and thought perhaps she could do that too.

There she goes.

Oh yeah, this is fun.

I'm just like my big brother!

MORE PICTURES OF GRANDPARENT TIME

This is a nice picture by itself, but even nicer if you know it was taken at Adam's Pinecreek Buffet and you have the memory of the wonderful dinner we had to go with it. On crazy day we put the kids to bed and after a few minutes went through the house banging a pot with a spoon, getting them up and putting them in the car to go get an ice cream sundae. Here are a few pictures of the pajama-clad kids at McDonalds.
