A PRE-THANKSGIVING FEAST

Since we were going to be gone for Thanksgiving, we set up a feasting time with the Oldland family before we left. We wanted to celebrate the bounty that the Lord had provided through the garden that we grew together and the chickens that we raised together. Jocelyn always decorates her house so nicely for each season and holiday. This is the front door as we entered.

This is a dish made from the green beans and potatoes from the garden.

Here's a couple of the chickens, roasted and ready.

Eight of the twelve.

The other four. :)

These two are so cute together, the two year olds of our families.

Jonathan, enjoying the good food.

Cecily climbed on this toy by herself. We were impressed.

Peter and William had matching shirts. Kind of cheerful. :)

It took about 5 tries to get these two pajama-clad babies to sit in these chairs for a picture. One or the other kept getting down. The chairs belong to a little table that Jocelyn gave me to use for a while, as they aren't using it right now. I was excited to take it home and use it for activities for my smallest ones.

The chairs are obviously good for climbing on, at the very least.

We really enjoyed this evening. The time to talk and be together was especially comforting. We are so very grateful for these dear friends. The Lord has blessed us mightily this year and this was certainly an evening to highlight one of the main ways.
"Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you."
2 Corinthians 13:11

It's good to have you back! Cecily has really changed and it was fun to especially see the photos of her!
