A 5 BIRTHDAY

Happy is the 4th child when a day is focused on him! Calvin thoroughly enjoyed his birthday. I'm sure you'll be able to tell.Sam and Will and I saw some fun heart shaped, frosted donuts at the store the day before and thought they would make a fun birthday treat. Here is Cal eating his and wearing the Indian hat that Benjamin made for him as a gift.

Will is showing what the donuts look like before being devoured.

It's a pretty good time having so many birthdays to celebrate around here. No one minds a bit. :)

Here is Calvin, ready for his birthday dinner.

Finishing off his spaghetti and meatballs.

The party table.

The cake. Calvin is the one who wants to be a fireman. He loves the big trucks and the neat uniforms. Sam and Will and Ben helped me decorate the cake with candy and pretzels.

Calvin is seeing the cake for the first time. A fun surprise.

Lighting the candles and...

...blowing them out.

Cheering at the end of the birthday song.

Hugs for the birthday boy.

Partaking of that fun cake.

Amelia enjoying some of the candy from the cake.

Opening cards and finding treats inside.

I think this one is from Grandma Betty and Grandpa Jerry.

From our friend, Mrs. Roupe.

A fun card from Grandma Bethel and Grandpa Larry.

Reading messages and birthday wishes is always enjoyed by all.

Ben is showing him the card that he made him too.

A nice, new Bible of his own, like he wanted, from Uncle John and Aunt Leslie.

Just like he pictured. It's perfect, John and Leslie.

Grammy and Papa arranged for a really special surprise for Cal.

His own fire suit!

Complete with a helmet that has a flashing light and a siren. He is trying to turn it on in the above picture.

What a great suit!

The back.

Next gift was a yo-yo of his own. He's trying to put the loop over his finger.

He's thrilled. It's amazing to me how much joy a yo-yo can bring. The boys love them.

This one was a wooden firetruck kit that he got to put together with dad. Sorry, no picture.

And last of all...

...a play crossbow like Benny's.

Posing with a firetruck.

Crossbow shooting fireman. :)
Another year for Calvin. Time continues to beguile me and it's hard to believe he's 5 already. He will be learning to read this year. He's well on his way.

Happy Birthday Calvin. Wow, a fireman in training; nice uniform and a Bible to go with it. Doesn't get a whole lot better.

Hugs from me,
Kathy

A belated happy birthday to Calvin. Your cake is so cute. I might have to try something like that for Athan.
