We got Sam and Will a new set of Fischertechnik, called Super Cranes for Christmas. It includes the necessary parts for building three different models of cranes. They finished the first one, it's huge! They were very excited about it. 
They built a construction site out of various other building toys to go with the crane. It has a pretty complicated pulley system that they rigged onto it with a hook on the end to lift and move things. Their engineering skills are really coming along. They and we think Fischertechnik is very worthwhile! :-)

Developing skill is so much fun to watch and I would guess that having input into that is even more fun. Parenting at its best Peter and Julie. Moments to remember when a frustrating moment arises.
